The Dakota County Board of Commissioners passed the one and six year road improvement plan at their meeting Monday, Feb. 12.
High priority projects for 2018 include replacing the drainage system on Hall Avenue located near Dakota City and grading and graveling Perry Avenue for a half of a mile south off Highway 35. Those projects are anticipated to cost $90,000 and $15,000, respectively.
Two additional projects planned for 2018 if money and weather allows are adding asphalt overlays for just over half a mile on Lake Avenue south of Old Highway 20 and for a half a mile on Thompkins Drive south of Old Sawmill Road. Those projects are expected to cost $56,000 and $65,000, respectively.
The entire list contains 12 items that are planned for 2019 and 2020 and is subject to amendment.
