Emma Bagley, 92
Emma M. Bagley, 92 of South Sioux City passed away Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at a South Sioux City Care Center.
Services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home with the Rev. Rex Wentzel officiating. Burial was in the City Cemetery, Newcastle. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Emma Margaret Parrish Bagley was born May 17, 1924, in Omaha, the daughter of George E. and Cora A. (Ray) Parrish. She graduated from high school and was a longtime resident of the Siouxland area. Emma married Darryl C. Bagley Aug. 23, 1978 in Whiting, Iowa. She was employed at Bishops Cafeteria until it closed, at the South Sioux City Indoor Pool helping with water aerobics and at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home as a receptionist for over 20 years.
Emma belonged to the First Presbyterian Church in South Sioux City.
Survivors include a brother Lawrence Parish, six grandchildren: Doug Martin, Dawn Martin, Brad Martin, Tonya Galles, Rhonda and Dawn Smith, and six great-grandchildren: Kelsey, Bryton Martin, Aubra and Shay Galles, Cherokee and Sheena Smith.
Pallbearers will be Kelsey and Bryton Martin, Aubra, Shay and Steve Galles, Sheena Smith.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Darryl April 15, 2001, a son Ronald Martín, a daughter Frances Smith, sisters: Barbara, Eva, Opal Roberts, Bessie Nelson and Mabel Kobernus, brothers: Earl, Cecil, Elzy and Rolland.
Leora Lundin, 86
Leora June “Randy” Lundin, 86 of South Sioux City passed away Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at local hospital. Memorial Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, 1431 West 29th St.
Leora J. “Randy” Lundin was born Dec. 6, 1931 in Sioux City, the daughter of Guy and Ruby (Clark) Macklem. Randy attended and graduated from South Sioux City High School. She married Darwin Lundin in 1949 and together they made their home in Omaha, later moving to Las Vegas, where they spent many years. Darwin died in the late 80’s. Randy returned to her childhood home in South Sioux City to take care of her parents. Over the years, Randy worked as a waitress and after returning to South Sioux City, she worked as a lunch lady at the local school.
Randy enjoyed gardening and her dogs, Dooley and Zoe.
She is survived by four grandchildren, Shannon Smith of Oregon, Michael Smith of Alaska, Keri Ramirez of Maryland, Stacey Mosley of Oregon; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice Knudson of Illinois, Edna Diller of Wisconsin; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Leora is proceeded in death by her parents, daughter Kristy Thomas, one brother Adrian Macklem, and three sisters; Madeline Burton, Faye Zastrow, and Bernetta Bicknell.
