| The Pender - Thurston Education & Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Nebraska Community Foundation, was formed to provide a means to charitably support improvement projects in the Pender - Thurston area with tax deductible donations. In present times of higher costs for services provided by our government entities, it becomes more and more the private funds that must provide the means of improving and maintaining our community. Such improvements must be continually made to maintain the excellent quality of life that we have come to enjoy in our part of Nebraska. | |
| The purpose of this foundation shall be to attract, collect, manage and disburse contributions so as to foster excellence in all aspects of the Pender - Thurston Public School District and community. Such support shall be provided to the district in areas in which funds for other services are unavailable or insufficient to meet the needs of the district. | |
| Areas in which assistance will be rendered include, but are not limited to, providing new and improved educational opportunities for students and teachers of out school district by providing scholarship and grant opportunities. Assistance will also provide support for programs, equipment, and facilities by supplementing available tax dollars for students, teachers, public school employees and various other nonprofit organizations throughout the communities. | |
| The Pender - Thurston Education and Community Foundation is an affiliated fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation, which provides affiliated fund status to communities, organizations and donors statewide. This allows communities and organizations to achieve nonprofit status without forming their won nonprofit corporation. The Nebraska Community Foundation is a nonprofit charitable corporation that provides financial management, strategic development and education/training services to communities, organizations and donors across Nebraska.
