What began as clerical error has led some Thurston County property owners to pay real estate tax bills hundreds of dollars more than they should be.
And the fix isn’t a simple one.
The tax rate for the Rosalie fire district levy was meant to be .0511621, but tax bills sent to property owners in that district state the levy is .37348360 — or about 7.3 times more than it ought to be.
